There are many reasons why mattresses are bad for landfills. Because of the padding, fabric and springs, they are difficult to compact in their native form and can even break landfill machinery.
Understanding this need, O’ahu Mattress Disposal was created to break apart the mattresses – using hydraulic compressors to compact the padding and fabric and separate the springs and wood from the framing to make the mattress easier for landfill processing.
Prior to your visit, please complete the drop off form to let us know when you plan on arriving and how many mattresses you’ll be bringing with you to help us prepare for your visit. Also, please keep the following in mind:
We accept mattresses and box springs only – no frames, headboards or electric beds.
Mattresses must be as dry as possible – we will NOT accept sopping wet beds.
Bedbug infested mattresses – or those suspected of bedbug infestation – must be wrapped and clearly marked prior to drop-off.
Heavily soiled or bloody beds must be wrapped and clearly marked prior to drop-off.
Dumping mattresses at our facility after-hours is prohibited.
The above procedures are subject to change at any time and we reserve the right to refuse any mattress.
Our fee is $33 per mattress and must be paid at time of drop off.
